Boredom

Boredom is actually a very interesting state, like wanting something to happen or change but not knowing what. It’s a shadowy, undefined state of dissatisfaction which needs to be changed to ‘having’ so better things shine (are created on the visual field) from it. I AM IS BEING.

An Important Stage of Magickal Training concerning the Visual Field

There are certain stages in spiritual development, which are quite specific. For example, access concentration at will. One of these stages is constant control of the visual field, i.e. to always be in control of what is existing visually (and so astrally) in the mind. Now it might not always be positive or in real-time, but it becomes all conscious.

So before training, the mind just runs around and does whatever it wants. But then one learns to control it for specific periods of time. Then there is improving awareness and concentration. Each evening, the days events can be reviewed and people will generally struggle to remember what they were visualising in the morning as it was largely unconscious, but this will improve, to the definite state where one is aware, looking back throughout the just-lived day, or what one was visualising (and so the state one was in). This stage is partly due to improved recall and partly due to improved concentration, but it coincides with increased disipline, and so happiness and ‘luck’.

New Magickal Perspectives on Theurgy

This isn’t really an insight, but more an understanding I got from reading the book Divine Magick. That there is the physical world, that we see with our senses, and a world of ideas (in the Platonic sense) that exist as principles. It’s a bit like gravity, which existed before any person or consciousness evolved. So in the world of ideas there are principles, like something being hot. Heat. Now we have evolved with bodies and can feel heat and see flames out there in the world with our senses, but the world is a dream of the past, it’s realy a manifestation of the idea of ‘heat’ being reported by the senses, you don’t really know what exists at all out there beyond the senses.

So theurgy is contacting these energies because the principles like ‘love’ and ‘abundance’ are not just ideas, they are CONSCIOUS, and you can experience them as STATES. So you look at a pantheon of dieties, say the Olympic spirits or the astrological dieties, and they represent a collection of ideas that rule over the human experience.

So you get their associations, their colours and scents and you build a shrine and you contact them by petition (writing your intention) and then EMBODYING THAT STATE as a state of consciousness, and you feel what you want to feel and the idea is existing in your consciousness and will manifest associated fantasy in your mind. Then it will shine into the world.

For example, you could contact Jupiter, burn his scent, visualize him nembutso style in his shrine in your astral temple, and you can then feel a state of pure essense of abundance, and then you have manifested his state. Yes, actual abundance will then manifest around you, but really you have it when you have the state because it will exist in you. You are EMBODYING IT AS AN IDEA.
