Mental Development Exercises

These exercises are designed to enhance self-awareness, concentration, and control over thoughts and energy. Each exercise focuses on a specific aspect of mental or spiritual development.

1. Ego Denial

Refrain from using words that refer to the self in conversation and thought. This practice helps detach from ego-driven perspectives.

2. Criticism of Others

Avoid making critical remarks about others, both in speech and thought. This encourages a more positive and impartial mindset.

3. Criticism of Self

Refrain from self-criticism in both speech and thought. This promotes self-acceptance and mental clarity.

4. Stepped Relaxation

Tense and then relax various parts of the body in sequence, progressively withdrawing awareness from each relaxed part.

5. Elemental Orientation

Relax the body, then focus awareness on different elements and their corresponding:

  • Colours
  • Sensations
  • Directions

6. Astral Projection

Visualise a red dot on a blue background. Then, open an inner eye and separate awareness from the body.

7. Tattwa Awareness

Use visualisation of Tattwa symbols to activate psychic centres and heighten perception.

8. Mantra Meditation

Still the mind by repeating a single word, such as “Omega”, to develop focus and mental discipline.

9. Thought Stream

Observe thoughts without interacting with them, as if watching the mind of another person.

10. Daily Recall

Review the day’s events in sequence, from morning until evening, to enhance self-awareness and memory.

11. Time Watching

Focus attention on the minute hand of a clock or watch to strengthen concentration.

12. Geometric Shapes

Visualise points, lines, and planes, learning to feel created forms as part of oneself.

13. Leaving the Body

Project an astral form out of the physical body to examine the surroundings.

14. Astral Temple

Visualise a detailed room that serves as a personal space for magical workings.

  • Begin by opening a door and stepping inside.
  • End by leaving and closing the door.

15. Aura Awareness

Direct awareness to the surface of the skin and allow perception to move over the entire body to sense the aura.

16. Grounding and Centering

Visualise a stone pillar in nature and form a cross shape with the body to awaken awareness of grounding energies.

17. Vibrating Names of Power

Focus on the correct technique for vibrating words of power using the breath and voice.

18. Charging an Object

Use breathing, visualisation, and words to charge an object with occult energy.

19. The Middle Pillar

A meditation technique combining:

  • Visualisation
  • Breathing
  • Vibrating divine names

This practice is used to control and direct subtle forces.
